History of Astion Pharma

Astion Pharma was established out of a bioscience group founded by Morten S. Weidner in 1992.

In the mid ‘90-ties a successful API formulation business allowed revenue invested in R&D.

In 2000 the API formulation business was divested.

In 2003 the first round of private financing prepared Astion Pharma as a full R&D dermatological company.

In 2008 Astion Pharma was ready for an IPO which however was cancelled in the last moment due to the global meltdown of the financial markets.

In 2010 Astion had developed and prepared the Medical Devices Helioclin® Seborrhoeic Dermatitis Cream and Helioclin® Pruritus Cream  for launch in the EU.

In late 2010 Astion made the first supply and distribution agreement covering Nordic countries concerning the Helioclin® Medical Device product line.

Today, Astion Pharma is located in Symbion Science Park in Copenhagen with a dedicated work force of specialists and several promising projects and products within dermatology.
